19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former trainer his previous coach.

Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after spring of that year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 championships at 21 different events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

His retrieving play style and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was finished.

But the player has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.

Moutet rescued four early-game break points in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
